Huber’s naturally mined (typically >99% calcium carbonate) and oyster shell calcium carbonate (typically >95% calcium carbonate), marketed under the Hubercal® brand, are naturally low in lead (Prop 65 levels). Both are manufactured under strict cGMP standards.  Huber also has experience in formulating a binder system in powder blends to make compressible powders (which are essential to the tableting process).

Huber is also aware of the sensory qualities of Hubercal and the effect on oral dosage forms of vitamins and supplements.  Huber has engineered and improved sensory characteristics specifically in chewable tablets.  Huber’s unique granulation technology, based on a continuous and customizable process, achieves consistent large production runs of specialized products.  Huber provides this all under one roof enabling low cost, reliable and consistent product.

Silica as Carriers for Liquid Vitamins
Huber also has experience in and a portfolio of “carrier” products. These precipitated silica products are developed to absorb liquid forms of vitamins (or other viscous material) so that an oral dosage tablet can be marketed to consumers.

Silica as a Processing Aid
To assist in production runs, Huber’s line of glidant products (precipitated silicon dioxide) offer improved mass flow characteristics when compared to colloidal silica.  The benefits of improved uniformity of tablet weight allow for assurance of delivered levels of nutrient no matter how small the concentration.
