Abrasive & polishing agents for toothpaste

Huber began manufacturing precipitated silica in Havre de Grace, MD, in the 1950s and today produces these products at seven manufacturing facilities serving customers on every continent.

A pioneer in the manufacture of precipitated silica and silicates (PSS), Huber Engineered Materials can control PSS characteristics to produce customized products to meet a wide variety of specifications.

The result is a complete spectrum of PSS that offers expanded versatility as a dentifrice polishing and a superior thickening agent, all while providing maximum fluoride compatibility.

Our ZEODENT® silica polishing and thickening agents not only allow for fluoride compatibility, but also offer varying levels of cleaning, abrasion and compatibility with other therapeutic agents. Huber silica products can be used in a wide range of dentifrice formulas including: opaque, clear gels, striped, dual phase as well as in milder opacified or gel formulas. Single silica applications where one silica acts as both a polishing and thickening agent have also been developed.

Additionally, new products have been shown to possess enhanced compatibilities with new active agents, whether cationic, anionic or non-ionic.
