Atlanta, Feb. 2, 2012 - Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), a division of J.M. Huber Corporation, has selected D & F Distributing and Horn to distribute its broad array of fire retardant additives, calcium carbonate extenders and barium sulfate products effective immediately. Both companies already have responsibilities for distributing HEM’s silicas and silicates.
D & F Distributing, headquartered is in Dallas, Texas, will represent HEM in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Horn, headquartered in La Mirada, California, will represent HEM in the western U.S. The two distributors will be responsible for supplying HEM’s fire retardant additives and ground calcium carbonate and barium sulfate product lines to customers in the adhesives, paints and coatings, construction, inks, sealants, thermoplastics, thermoset and wire and cable markets.
HEM’s comprehensive fire retardant and smoke suppressant portfolio includes its broad line of SB, Hymod®, Micral® and MoldX® alumina trihydrate (ATH) additives; Vertex® and Zerogen® magnesium hydroxides (MDH); and Kemgard® molybdate smoke suppressants. For calcium carbonate, Huber offers its Hubercarb®, Geotex® and Optifil® brands and for barium sulfate, Huberbrite®.
