HEM To Showcase Silica For Food Options At IFT '06; Shares Booth Space with CP Kelco

ATLANTA, GA., May 05, 2006 — Huber Engineered Materials, part of J.M. Huber Corporation, today announced it will be showcasing its entire line-up of inSight™ food-grade precipitated silica and silicate during this years Institute of Food Technologists annual meeting and Food Expo®.   The exhibit will be hosted in Orlando (June 24-28).

As in year’s past, Huber will be sharing exhibit space (booth #2526) with its sister Huber organization, CP Kelco, a world leader in food-grade hydrocolloids and rheology agents.

Huber’s inSight brand includes precipitated silica and silicate ingredients used in both the preparation and processing of powdered food, spice blends and beverage mixes. Precipitated silica and silicate are used as anti-caking and free-flow agents as well as carriers for these products. In addition, silica can be a valuable processing additive to increase machinery throughput and minimize downtime due to caked ingredients and build-up.

According to Christina Walkosak, director of silica marketing, “Huber’s dedication to its customers is exemplified by the insight the company brings to solving difficult flow issues with food, spice blends and beverage mixes.”
