ATLANTA, Sept. 21, 2007 – Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), part of J.M. Huber Corporation, today announced Robert (Bob) Baker, technical service director for calcium carbonate and barium sulfate products, will deliver key technical presentations at two major industry events. Baker will be a featured presenter at Composites-Polycon 2007 in Tampa, Fla., on Oct. 18 and at The Adhesives and Sealants Council’s Short Course in Covington, Ky., Nov. 6.
At Composites-Polycon, Baker’s session will focus on quality control procedures for testing incoming powered raw materials, such as marble dusts and onyx fillers. The presentation will also focus on quality testing conducted by major manufacturers and simple tests conducted in a setting such as a marble shop. Properties to be covered include particle size, color, moisture and black specs.
Huber’s booth #817 can be found at Composites and Polycon 2007 in the Tampa Convention Center where technical and sales representatives will be discussing Huber’s product options and sharing its technical service expertise.
“Kaolin Clay and Carbonates” is the title of Baker’s presentation at The Adhesives and Sealants Council’s Short Course event, to be held at the Cincinnati Marriott at RiverCenter in Covington. He will present a study on mining, product production and the specific sealant products manufactured utilizing kaolin clay and ground calcium carbonate.
“Huber is pleased and excited about Bob having the opportunity to share his expertise at these two venues,” said Craig Gentile, director of sales for HEM’s Ground Calcium Carbonate business unit. “We pride ourselves on supplying innovative products to the marketplace as well as providing superior technical support and service to our customers. Those attending Bob’s presentations will be able to glean useful information in their own technical efforts.”
