J.M. Huber Corporation Acquires ATH Business of AluChem, Inc.
(Edison, NJ) – J.M. Huber Corporation has announced the acquisition of the alumina trihydrate (ATH) business of AluChem, Inc. AluChem, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a manufacturer of various forms of chemical grade of alumina products.
Huber’s acquisition of AluChem’s ATH business represents an excellent strategic fit with Huber’s existing ATH business, which is a part of the Huber Engineered Materials (HEM) division. It strengthens HEM’s position in ATH in North America, improves its cost structure and adds significant capacity to HEM’s existing ATH manufacturing facilities.
According to Huber Engineered Materials President, Don Rubright, “The higher production volumes resulting from the acquisition of AluChem’s ATH business will enable HEM to make better use of its current operations and significantly improve performance.”
Equipment and other AluChem resources will be incorporated into HEM locations in Quincy, Illinois, as well as the Fairmount and Kennesaw plants in Georgia.
