Huber To Showcase New Health And Nutrition Processing Capabilities At Supply Side East

ATLANTA, April 5, 2007 – Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), part of J.M. Huber Corporation, will showcase the new processing capabilities of its Modesto, Calif., facility at this year’s Supply Side East (SSE) trade show (booth #1300, April 30-May 2, 2007, Meadowlands Exposition Center, Secaucus, N.J.).

The Modesto facility was purchased by Huber in 2006 and is a key component of the company’s Health and Nutrition business unit.  The processing capabilities to be highlighted at the show include fluid bed granulation, blending and packaging.

“We’re very excited about the state-of-the-art technology of our Modesto facility, as the fluid bed capabilities allow HEM to process a variety of vitamins, minerals and specialty products,” says Michael E. Tarquini, Ph.D., senior product manager for Huber’s Nutrition Unit.   “And, the new blending and packaging capability positions Huber well for the vitamin and mineral pre-mix business and a variety of packaging opportunities.  We have a lot of exciting products and technology to show and discuss at Supply Side East.”

In addition to featuring the processing capabilities of the Modesto facility, Huber plans to focus on its leadership position as a leading supplier of compressible and powder forms of highly pure calcium carbonate in naturally mined and oyster shell grades for the food, nutrition and pharmaceutical markets.  A key product at the show will be HuberCal® calcium carbonate, which is used as the base material in many dietary supplements and antacids and is part of a growing product family of customized drum to hopper products.
