Huber To Help Solve Anti-Caking And Free-Flow Problems At IFT 2009 Food Expo

ATLANTA, March 26, 2009 – Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), a division of J.M. Huber Corporation, will showcase its food grade silica and silicate products and accompanying technical service capabilities at this year’s IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo.  The event is scheduled for June 6-9, 2009, at the Anaheim (Calif.) Convention Center.

Sales and technical service representatives of Huber’s silica business unit will discuss a variety of precipitated silica and silicate grades used in spice blends, powdered foods and drink mixes as anti-caking and free-flow agents and processing aids.  Silica is also a valuable processing additive to increase machinery throughput and minimize downtime due to caked ingredients and build-up.

“When it comes to helping customers solve their caking and flow problems, Huber is dedicated to supplying high performing products backed by outstanding technical service know-how,” says Marianne Riemer, global sales director for Huber specialty silica.  “We pride ourselves as leaders in the category on providing customers with insight to solve difficult flow issues with food, spice blends and beverage mixes.  We replicate problems in the lab and offer customized solutions.  At IFT, we look forward to sharing our silica knowledge and explaining our product and technical service attributes.”

A series of technical literature brochures will be featured at the event to support Huber’s silica and silicate product line-up.  The pieces include discussion and scientific data on silicas and silicates for anti-caking/free-flow applications in food and for carrier and absorption in food and industrial applications.

Huber’s booth #2769 can be found at the IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo where technical and sales representatives will be discussing product options and sharing their technical service expertise.

Formulators wanting more information on Huber’s silica processing capabilities are encouraged to call 1-800-704-8254 or visit hubermaterials.com.
