About Huber Health & Nutrition

Huber Engineered Materials became a granulator and tablet manufacturer of calcium carbonate and oyster shell powders with its 2003 acquisition of Micro Powders and Braig Incorporated (MPBI) and added to its portfolio with the addition of West Coast Ingredients in 2006.  A significant advancement in Huber’s particle engineering capacity was made in 2007 with the addition of fluid bed granulation and trituration.  Recently, Huber received approval to begin producing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), such as calcium carbonate granulation for use in the manufacturing of antacids and other pharma applications.

Huber has strategically-placed manufacturing and technical facilities in Modesto, California; Havre de Grace, Maryland; Quincy, Illinois; and Etowah, Tennessee to support its Health and Nutrition customers.  Huber’s facilities are conveniently and strategically located and equipped to ensure short delivery times and quality nutritional products.  Modesto is the hub of Huber's Health & Nutrition operation, as the facility offers customers calcium carbonate and fluid bed granulation, trituration, API production and contract manufacturing services. 

The Havre de Grace facility manufactures under cGMP utilizing Six Sigma® enhanced processes to achieve high quality standards.  It is the key production site for RxCIPIENTS® FM 1000 and GL advanced pharmaceutical excipients.  Havre de Grace is also home for applications laboratories and technical service personnel.   

 
Naturally-mined calcium carbonate is manufactured at the Quincy operation.  HuberCal® calcium carbonate is a trusted source of calcium carbonate from high-purity limestone. The naturally mined version of HuberCal is available in powder and granulation forms – both food USP grades.  Naturally mined HuberCal® calcium carbonate has set the standard for purity throughout the food, pharmaceutical and nutrition industries.  The Quincy facility also produces APIs.
 

In the small Tennesee mountain community of Etowah, Huber has a an ISO 9001:2000 registered manufacturing site, where RxCIPIENTS® GL glidants are produced.
