Huber Announces Global Price Increase for Alumina Trihydrate and Magnesium Hydroxide Grades

ATLANTA, GA (U.S.), December 18, 2017 – Huber Engineered Materials, a division of J.M. Huber Corporation, announces a global price increase for its alumina trihydrate and magnesium hydroxide products, effective Jan. 2, 2018 or as current contracts allow.  Prices will increase depending on product grade and packaging.

This increase includes all Hydral®, Hymod®, Martifin®, Martinal®, Micral®, MoldX®, SB and SpaceRite® grades of alumina trihydrate and Vertex® grades of magnesium hydroxide.

While Huber continues to focus on minimizing the inflationary impact for its comprehensive line-up of alumina trihydrate and magnesium hydroxide products, cost increases in raw material, labor, packaging, regulatory compliance and freight have necessitated this price adjustment.  The increase is also a result of continued capital investments made to increase capacities in Huber’s manufacturing facilities to ensure ongoing product demand is maintained.

Huber has been a trusted supplier of flame retardants and smoke suppressants for almost 40 years and produces value-added alumina trihydrate, magnesium hydroxide, engineered molybdate compounds and nitrogen and phosphorus products for a variety of end-use applications, including wire and cable, reinforced polyester molding and pultrusion, engineering thermoplastics, roofing, silicone rubber, coatings and carpet backing.
