Huber Announces Price Increase For Industrial Ground Calcium Carbonate

ATLANTA, GA, October 19, 2012 – Huber Engineered Materials, a division of J.M. Huber Corporation, announces a price increase for its industrial calcium carbonate products.  The price increase does not apply to Huber’s food and USP calcium carbonate grades.

The increase is effective December 1, 2012, or as current contracts allow.  Prices will increase an average of four to nine percent depending on product grade and packaging.

“Huber continues to increase productivity and processing efficiencies to minimize the impact of rising costs for materials, packaging, environmental compliance, product development and freight,” says David Riley, Vice President and General Manager of Huber’s Calcium Carbonate business unit.  “Despite these efforts, a price adjustment has become necessary to offset the cost increases in our business.”

Huber’s industrial calcium carbonate products are used in a variety of consumer and industrial applications, including adhesives, caulks and sealants; paints and coatings; drilling fluids; rubber; thermoset composites; thermoplastics; swimming pool aggregate; and cultured marble.
