
Laura Mongioi
Vice President & General Counsel
Laura Mongioi was named Vice President and General Counsel of Huber Engineered Materials (HEM) at the beginning of June 2023. In her role, Mongioi leads the legal function for HEM globally and oversees all legal activities and initiatives which take place in EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and North America for HEM. Mongioi has led a number of growth and expansion initiatives since her start with HEM and has been instrumental in the expansion of HEM’s footprint across the globe for the Huber AgroSolutions (HAS), Huber Advanced Materials (HAM) and Huber Specialty Minerals (HSM) businesses.
Before taking on her current role on HEM’s leadership team, Mongioi was the Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for AGC, Inc. starting in 2013. In that role, Mongioi led the day-to-day legal operations in North America and led the compliance function globally. Her responsibilities included managing complex legal work for AGC’s glass, multi-materials, chemicals, electronics, and biopharmaceuticals businesses, as well as driving best practices for regulatory and legal compliance for a diverse and multifaceted set of global manufacturing businesses.
Mongioi has also worked as in-house counsel in other capacities at global construction equipment manufacturing company based out of Korea and global telecommunication company based out of France. Prior to her diverse in-house roles, Mongioi was in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia, and worked as a litigation associate concentrating on complex commercial matters including those in the product liability and construction sectors. During her time in private practice, Mongioi successfully defended various matters in state and federal courts throughout the country, conducted international arbitrations and lawsuits, and obtained numerous favorable settlements and verdicts for her clients in matters she filed.
Mongioi received her Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University and two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Florida. She has also attended and competed executive education in leadership and strategy at the International Institute of Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.
