As part of J.M. Huber Corporation, supporting the communities where our employees live and work is a core component of the Huber Engineered Materials culture. Through Huber’s strategic approach to community engagement, the Company has pledged to donate a percentage of its net income annually towards helping people and the planet. We call this initiative Huber Helps, and our efforts are focused on three categories—Housing, Education & Wellness and the Environment, which includes responsive humanitarian support.
Around the world, Huber Engineered Materials employees take initiative to support meaningful projects in their local areas.
Education & Wellness for all
In support of music education, Huber Engineered Materials (HEM) partnered with the Give A Note Foundation to provide a donation to Campbell High School in Smyrna, Georgia, near the HEM headquarters in Atlanta. Funds were used to establish the curriculum for a new music technology program, including instruments, audio equipment and more.
A new daycare center started welcoming families in Meeker, Colorado, and the Huber Engineered Materials (HEM) Natural Soda business played a part in its opening.
The Geschwister Scholl Realschule near the Huber Engineered Materials site in Bergheim, Germany received funding for a new soccer field. When complete, this field will not just serve the students but will provide an inclusive environment for members across the community to connect.
The Volunteer Fire Brigade of Gronau, Germany has two new locker room containers to accommodate the growing numbers of women who serve as volunteer fire fighters.
Housing for families
Huber is proud of our strategic partnership with Habitat for Humanity International.
Employees from the Huber Engineered Materials Marblehead and Quincy, Illinois, locations celebrated with Mark Twain Habitat for Humanity as they officially dedicated a home for a mother and son that was fully sponsored by Huber Helps.
Following the 2024 flooding in Brazil, the Huber Helps program directed funds to Habitat for Humanity Brazil and ILSA Solidária Project. Both organizations have organized a disaster response to the flooding that involves home emergency repairs, hygiene and cleaning and shelter support kits.
Gardens of opportunity
An agreement between Biolchim—part of Huber AgroSolutions—2A SOCIAL Cooperative and the Municipality of Medicina facilitated the employment of a disabled citizen in Medicina, Italy, to maintain the city’s Public Gardens, the heart of the local social life.
Disaster relief
After Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact in North Carolina, Huber Engineered Materials employees, led by a father and son team, were ready to jump in and support. Relief supplies were collected, then distributed at sites in Hendersonville and Boone, North Carolina. These dedicated volunteers helped with home salvage, chain-sawing trees, and checking for any victims in need of aid, and Sunday hiking with Army-issued backpack to get supplies to areas in need on-foot.
